STORY: 

Koubachi is an iPhone app which helps you take care of your plants with a combination of a Wi-Fi Plant Sensor and an iPhone App. It actually gives your plants a voice. Now you can find out when exactly to give them water and fertilizer them and also how much of it is actually needed. By using the Wi-Fi Plant Sensor you will be notified whenever your plants need your love and attention.

CHALLENGE:

Koubachi’s Wi-Fi Plant Sensor is an official winner of the 2012 “red dot design award”!  Our challenge was balancing the look between the Grumo animation style and the actual look of the product. We were provided with a lot of photo references from different angles. After a few iterations we were able to achieve a look that would integrate with the rest of the video, but also is very close to the actual product.

At Koubachi, we were looking to produce a great and fun explanatory video for the Koubachi system. We came across videos of Grumo Media and liked the style and variety of their portfolio very much. We initiated contact and got an immediate response from Miguel, the owner. Within two calls, we were all set up (process, costs) and started to craft the storyboard for the video. Our project manager was Pedram – it’s been great to work with him. He was very responsive to our changes and always incorporated the changes within a short time frame. He also managed the process very well, always following up on our feedback and pushing us for revisions (in a start-up you always have 10 different things at the same time in your head) to secure the video is finished in time.
